Aloha! I’m Athena, longtime Maui resident and the voice behind Explore Maui Today. I’ve called Maui home since 1979 and have spent decades helping visitors discover the places, people, food, and experiences that make our island so special.
After more than 20 years in Maui’s hospitality industry and many more exploring the island with visitors through my transportation and private tour business, I created Explore Maui Today to share Maui from a local perspective—with helpful advice, honest recommendations, a little history, and plenty of aloha.
My goal is simple: help you experience Maui, not just visit it.
